Maine Mariners

This is a concept for the Maine Mariners logo. Seeing as how the Mariners recently had their logo redesigned the concept for this piece is to work as a specialty logo for either merchandise or special events. The logo draws inspiration from depictions of sea serpents on old maps. The Krakens iconic beak is also incorporated into the design.  In using the image of the legendary sea monster the logo draws upon the concept of mythology the trident in the new logo brings. The monsters long neck is curled like a snake with its jaw hanging open as if ready to strike. Its eyes are peering and shadowed challenging the viewer. The serpent’s fierce nature reflects the energy of a hockey team. The yellow from the original Mariners logo was also incorporated into this redesign.
